Are Windows Mobile Device Center and Windows Vista compatible with Outlook 2003?

I have a new HP Pavilion laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I downloaded Windows Mobile Device Center so I can sync my contacts and calendar on my Samsung Blackjack with Outlook 2003. It syncs my contacts but not my email, tax list or calendar. Outlook keeps failing and the synchronization process is not complete.

Outlook 2003 is compatible with Vista, but the biggest Mobile Device Center is not.
