The KO system is an unbalanced number. By having a single deck, the account must lead to 4. If you play single deck (there are not many places where you can play one story these days), begins with a score of zero. If you play more than one deck, then start with a number of -4 times the number of floors later. Thus, in a game with two plants, start with a number of -4. Six decks, start with a number -20. When the counter is positive, you can increase your bet. No need to divide by the number of decks as you would if you used a traditional counting system (an account balancing). That's the beauty / simplicity unbalanced counting systems. Buy and read the book. It is essential if you want to play well.
